A Lifelong Passion for Cross-Country Skiing
For as long as I can remember, cross-country skiing has been a part of my life. I learned to ski at the same time I was learning to walk, gliding on snowy trails for the first time before I was even two years old! This passion took me to competitions across Canada, training camps in Finland, and much more.
I had the privilege of discovering some of the most beautiful ski resorts and spending all my winters outdoors, no matter the weather. Over time, I developed real expertise in staying warm and dry, regardless of the conditions. I trained every single day without exception.
This sport has been my greatest teacher: it taught me discipline, self-improvement, and resilience. Let’s be honest—it takes a lot of motivation and self-talk to go cross-country skiing at -20°C with snow hitting your face instead of staying cozy under a warm blanket by the fire. But I always say the key is to dress properly so you can truly enjoy it!
A Special Day: Where Passion Meets Expertise
Today is a very special day for me. It marks the culmination of everything I’ve learned over the years: hands-on expertise on the trails and technical know-how in designing outerwear, developed through building two winter coat brands, FOSFO and AUDVIK.
Ten years after hanging up my skis and leaving my life as an athlete behind, I’m making one of my wildest dreams come true: combining my two greatest passions—cross-country skiing and women’s entrepreneurship.
I still remember vividly the moment I opened that package in the spring of 2023. Inside was the very first prototype of a cross-country ski jacket that my mother Élise, designer at FOSFO and Audvik, and I had envisioned just a few months earlier. My dream was coming to life—I had to pinch myself to believe it.
The Challenge of Designing Technical Garments
When you buy a sports garment, you don’t often think about all the steps involved in its creation. From design and fabric research to selecting accessories (like zippers or buttons) and logo placement, every detail is carefully considered.
Creating technical and specialized pieces is a long and rigorous process, but this attention to detail ensures we meet the expectations of sports enthusiasts. After extensive research and countless attempts, we found the perfect technical fabrics combining performance, lightness, and durability to meet the real needs of skiers, whether they are amateurs or experts.
Freedom of Movement and Optimal Protection
Our priorities include freedom of movement: roomy shoulders, articulated elbows, and stretchy fabrics to ensure maximum comfort. We also focused on waterproofing and windproof features. These essential properties help repel snow and rain—an absolute necessity for Quebec winters—while maintaining breathability.
Every piece in this collection combines technical excellence, comfort, and respect for the environment. Together with my mother Élise, we aimed to create garments that reflect the rigor and beauty of cross-country skiing while honoring our deep connection to nature.
Ecology at the Heart of Our Mission
Our love for cross-country skiing is inseparable from our respect for the environment. Spending so much time in nature has made us acutely aware of the impact of climate change on our winters. Decreasing snowfall, frequent thaws, and unpredictable conditions threaten not only our sport but also the delicate balance of our winter ecosystem.
In light of this, we felt compelled to take action. Our mission: to inspire people to enjoy winter warmly while reducing their environmental footprint. This vision has materialized through the use of eco-friendly materials in our garments. For example, our fabrics are made from recycled plastic bottles, reducing waste while preserving natural resources.
We are also committed to sustainable production processes and minimizing our carbon footprint at every step, from material selection to logistics.
Today, I am proud to share this first collection with you. It embodies not only my personal story but also the stories of all those who, like me, live for those magical moments when the biting cold gives way to the warmth of movement. This journey is a tribute to my passion for cross-country skiing, to my mother Élise, and to the inspiration that nature offers us every day.
