At FOSFO, we truly believe that sustainability is more than a fashion statement. We are always challenging ourselves to do more everyday for our planet and its playgrounds.
The concerns about our planet’s ecosystems weren’t born yesterday. In 1987, the World Commission on Environment and Development of the United Nations was publishing a report “Our Common Future” and was resuming sustainability as “development which meets the needs of current generations without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”.
At FOSFO, we are committed to manufacture products that represent our values.
We define ourselves by our authenticity and transparency. Our commitment is to create top-of-the-line products that are respectful of the environment and created in a healthy and safe workplace.
We believe that we can reduce our ecological footprint and yours. We believe that in order to reduce it, our creations must be eco-responsible and durable. We have searched for the best innovations on the market to offer you puffy jackets that are respectful of the planet and meet our highest quality standards.
Because we believe in fashion designed to last, we make sure that you can keep your jacket for many years. Made from 100% recycled textiles, our FOSFO jackets collection offers products that allow you to have an active and fashionable lifestyle while reducing your ecological footprint.
Our regenerated nylon
“Nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed.” – Antoine Laurent de Lavoisier
Did you know that, according to the Environment Program and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN, the lost and discarded fishing gear impacting the marine ecosystem is estimated around 10% of the 6 400 000 tons of ghost gear entering the world’s oceans.
From one fishing net we build five puffy jackets
The exterior fabric of our puffy jacket is made of innovative textiles from fishing nets abandoned in oceans. These abandoned fishing nets are first transformed in threads and then weaved to create a new fabric that is durable and eco-responsible.
Advantages of this fabric issues from the Ripstop technology:
Perfect for all climates
Waterproof
Rip resistant
Flexible
Materials certifications
Our standards are high because we are determined to offer to you the best of ourselves in everything we create. That is why we choose the certifications that align with our goals and values.
Responsible Down Standard (RDS)
Responsible down only. We use thick down as insulating material in our FOSFO puffy jacket, and it is RDS certified. Responsible Down Standard is an independent, voluntary global standard. The companies choose to certify their products even if there is no legislation requiring them to do so. This standard ensures that down and feathers come from animals that have not been subjected to any unnecessary harm. The welfare of the birds is respected at all times. The standard also ensures that the tracking of RDS down and feathers is maintained throughout the process, from the farm to the final product.

Global Recycled Standard (GRS)
It was a priority for us to guarantee the recycled content in our products and to verify the social, environmental and chemical practices of our partners in their production. The GRS certification appears for us to be the best way to have that guarantee because the objectives of this standard are to define requirements to ensure accurate content claims and good working conditions, and that harmful environmental and chemical impacts are minimized. We are certified GRS on almost all of our products, and we are committed to keeping it that way!
GOTS Certification
We have decided to use organic cotton fiber grown in soil that has been free of prohibited substances for at least three years prior to harvest and certified GOTS for the making of our hoodies collection. The Global Organic Textile Standard covers the entire production process based on the use of organic fibers from textile processing and manufacturing up to licensing and labelling. While this is a rigorous process in which many criteria must be met, the result is an internationally recognized organic certification providing sustainable, ethical, and high-quality products. That certification ensures the product is fully organic from farm to finish and guarantees worker rights. We are proud to have the best quality organic cotton while keeping our ethical approach.
Ethically made: BSCI
It is important for us to create eco-friendly products and in addition to this we also want them to be manufactured in factories making sure every employee is treated with respect and paid a fair and living wage. That is why all the factories we are working with are BSCI – Business Social Compliance Initiative approved.
The BSCI is auditing the companies that enroll in their code of conduct. This code refers to international conventions to improve working conditions in the supply chain. The labor conditions, reasonable hours, fair wages and a safe work environment are also regulated in this code.
Additionally, to verify that our standards are met our overseas team members are visiting our factory partners several times a year.
From our facilities to you, we want to ensure that our efforts to protect the planet are being pursued. In addition to the certifications of our products and the respect of the workers, we are continuing with small details in our packaging. Our shipping boxes and our labels are made from eco-friendly recycled and recyclable materials.
